How to grow Beetroots<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Beetroot is one of the most delicious vegetables. Their bright red color is what characterizes them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use beetroots raw in salads, boiled in salads, in soups. Beetroots are rumored to have many nutrients and are beneficial to health. Their green leaves are even healthier as they contain minerals, vitamins and fiber. Try beetroot leaves with a light oil-vinegar-light mustard sauce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Start beetroot from seeds<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Beetroot seeds can be planted directly in the soil. For best results, however, it is best to plant the seeds in a nursery first and then transplant them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seeds – Nursery<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Plant the beetroot seeds at a depth of about 1 cm and at 3-5 cm intervals. The seeds will germinate in about 5 to 12 days depending on conditions and temperature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transplanting beetroot seedlings<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

When the seedlings reach a height of about 5 cm, you can transfer them to the area where they will be grown. Place them at distances of 7 to 15 cm apart. The longer the distance, the more space the beet bulb will have to grow and therefore the beet will become bigger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best soil for beetroots<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Beetroots have moderate requirements. For best results, the soil should be well fertilized with compost. Water regularly. Dry soil, will increase banding in the beet (pale rings in the beet). The ideal soil pH is 6.5 to 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do not plant beets in the same place with potatoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beetroots nutritional value<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

85 grams of cooked beetroots have only 37 calories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beetroot is a good source of folic acid<\/strong>, manganese<\/b> and potassium<\/strong> which controls blood pressure, as well as beta-carotene which improves vision<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
