How to grow Cabbages<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Cabbage is another favorite vegetable. To preserve its nutrients, do not cook it intensely. When cooking, avoid using aluminum utensils to reduce the smell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sprouts are impressive plants. They can also be ornaments in your garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other names for cabbages<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Latin name: Brassica oleracea var. capitata. Brassicaceae Family<\/strong>
Greek name: \u039b\u03ac\u03c7\u03b1\u03bd\u03bf (single, \u039b\u03ac\u03c7\u03b1\u03bd\u03b1 (plural)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tips for growing cabbages<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When we plant cabbages<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

You will find several varieties of cabbage seeds on the market. There are cabbages that ripen in the summer, others in the autumn and others in the winter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sowing periods are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • To have cabbages in summer, sow seeds from early March to mid-June<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • For autumn cabbages, sow seeds in mid-May to early June<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • To have cabbages in winter, sow seeds from mid-July to mid-August<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Transplanting or direct sowing for cabbages<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    You can start your cabbages by planting the seed directly in the garden, or by starting by planting the seed in a nursery and then transplanting the seedlings into the garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    You can transplant when the seedlings have 4 to 8 true leaves. This will happen after 5 to 8 weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    If you choose direct seeding, put 3 to 4 seeds in each spot. Of the seedlings that will germinate, keep the one that is the strongest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Depth and spacing for cabbage sowing<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    Place the cabbage seeds at a depth of about half a centimeter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Cabbages need space to grow. Plant the cabbages at a distance of 80 to 100 cm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Choose a good sowing point<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    Choose a place in the garden that gets a lot of sun. Otherwise the sprouts will grow stunted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Best soil for cabbages<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

    Cabbages need a well-drained and fertilizer-rich soil with lots of organic matter. The ideal soil pH is 6.0 to 7.5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Cabbages need frequent and regular watering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
