How to grow Cauliflowers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Cauliflower is a relatively easy vegetable to grow. The unique taste of cauliflower, especially when raw, makes it an important vegetable for our dishes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You should be aware that white varieties have fewer nutrients than dark-colored cauliflower varieties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other names for cauliflower<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Latin name: Brassica oleracea var. botrytis. Brassicaceae family<\/strong>
Greek name: \u039a\u03bf\u03c5\u03bd\u03bf\u03c5\u03c0\u03af\u03b4\u03b9 (single) \u039a\u03bf\u03c5\u03bd\u03bf\u03c5\u03c0\u03af\u03b4\u03b9\u03b1 (plural)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Start cauliflower from seeds<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

You can start by sowing cauliflower seeds indoors, 4 to 6 weeks before the last cold spring frosts. The germination temperature of cauliflower seeds is between 7 and 29 degrees Celsius. However, they can germinate even at a temperature of 4 degrees Celsius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Place the seeds at a depth of about 1 a centimeter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seeds usually germinate after 4 to 10 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transplanting cauliflower seedlings<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Transplanting cauliflower seedlings can be done when the outside temperature is not less than 10 degrees Celsius.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cauliflower seedling is ready for transplanting when it has 4 to 8 true leaves. This usually occurs 5 to 9 weeks after sowing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You should plant the seedling deeper than you planted the seed. Tuck it into the soil until the first healthy large leaf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Direct sowing of cauliflower seeds<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Of course, you can plant cauliflower seeds directly in the garden. In each spot and at a depth of about half a centimeter, place 3 to 4 seeds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cauliflowers need space to grow. Make sure that the distances between the plants is between 45 and 60 cm. Keep in mind that the wider the distance, the stronger the plants will be and produce a larger fruit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a few weeks, remove the weaker plants and keep the strongest one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best soil for cauliflowers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Cauliflowers prefer fertile and well-fertilized soil that is well-drained. The ideal pH is between 6.0 and 7.5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cauliflowers need continuous, consistent and ample watering. Prefer drip watering so that the leaves do not get wet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Be sure to rotate your crops. Do not plant cauliflowers in the same place you planted them up to 3 years ago. Choose another spot in the garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fertilizing cauliflowers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Avoid fertilizer rich in nitrogen. Too much nitrogen, can lead to weak stems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
