But they are very hard and difficult to peel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a time of plenty, one would hardly bother to peel the hard quince, make it into a spoon sweet, jam or add it to dishes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to easily peel quinces<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The hardest part of any quince recipe is peeling the quinces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That&#8217;s because it&#8217;s a tough fruit. Adjust accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boil the water in a pot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add the quince pieces and let it boil for at least 10 to 15 minutes of the hour. The exact time depends on the amount of candy you are preparing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then add the sugar and stir well to dissolve it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Continue boiling over medium heat and stir regularly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During this phase, you will see that at a certain point, our mixture starts to foam. When we stir it, it will foam more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Continue boiling over medium heat for about half an hour. They are still golden brown.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The pieces of quince will still be blond, though.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the boil, stir periodically.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add a few arborica leaves, the juice of one lemon and if you want, some peeled almonds (I recommend it).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bring to a boil once more. Practically that means let it boil for another 5 minutes or so. I stir the mixture at this stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I turn off the stove top and continue stirring until the boiling stops.
