Maybe because every okra I&#8217;ve tasted has been store-bought, frozen, of almost unknown origin and age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Things changed when I grew okra in the garden for the first time and used it to make my first okra dish.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have been a fanatic ever since.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">There are many things that have impressed me about this plant<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It is very easy to grow and start from seed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It has an impressive flower.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The fruits, the okra, grow very quickly. From flower to harvest, it takes only 5 to 6 days.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Okra keeps the grower on his toes. He needs to harvest every second day.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you prepare and cook them properly, they make amazing dishes!!!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can keep them in the freezer for several months and eat them in winter too.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tip<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Sow at least 30 to 50 okra plants to get enough production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Recipes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The recipe I usually follow to cook okra is the one by Argyro Barbarigou: <strong><a aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.argiro.gr\/recipe\/mpamies-laderes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\" class=\"ek-link\">Argyro&#8217;s Okra Latheres<\/a><\/strong>.
